CASCADE PARTY WASHINGTON 2026 CONVENTION

For Immediate Release

February 2, 2026

Cascade Party held its annual convention on January 24th in Centralia. Over 30 party members convened to elect officers, review bylaws and consider resolutions and the party’s platform.

The Party was founded in 2024, recognizing the need and public desire for a new path in our state’s body politic.

Official Status

Cascade Party went through the process necessary for state recognition and is an official party in Washington State.

Krist Novoselić serves as the party’s Chair and says, “If you wanted to start an official party today, you’d have to wait until 2028 — when the window for qualifying opens again.”

A Real Party

The political landscape in Washington, and the United States, has been dominated by two parties for too long. Cascade sees the moment for transitioning to a new kind of politics. Novoselić says, “The line has blurred between social media influencer and real leadership. It’s as if our elected officials are chasing ‘Likes, Follows and Subscribers’, instead of putting the time into negotiating legislation addressing the issues of the day.”

Cascade Party are not a Political Action Committee (PAC). The party is a combination of old fashioned political association and social networking. Members met in a historic location in Centralia to discuss the issues of the day. At the same time, the party is keen to the information revolution.

The party uses its own social media platform as a way for members to associate. This site does not track or sell users / members to advertisers. Cascade’s innovative use of its own social media empowers its members to form a collective voice.

Our Message

Political parties package issues for voters. Cascade members passed a platform and resolutions sending a message of our needs and values to Washington voters.

Cascade Party addressed issues like immigration, transportation, medical billing, housing, sex work and forest practices. The party called for stopping the current I-5 Vancouver interstate bridge replacement mega-project, for more practical transportation solutions. There was another resolution calling for the dissolution of the King County Regional Homelessness Authority. Check out the eleven resolutions passed by the membership.

2026

Cascade is planning on running candidates in 2026. “New parties offer issues into the campaign season which the dominant parties are neglecting.” said Novoselić.
